Description: | DLESE is an amazing website that covers pretty much everything related to teaching and learning earth science. DLESE resources include electronic materials for both teachers and learners, such as lesson plans, maps, images, data sets, visualizations, assessment activities, curriculum, online courses, and much more. There is also an active community with several forums, email lists, etc.
The link below is to the resources page, a list of 174 lesson plans, online activities, textbooks, and informational websites. The sites cover a range of audiences from elementary school students to undergrads, but are especially strong in the 5th-12th grade levels. The online textbooks are listed separately in TBR, so you don’t have to dig through this list to find just books. Each resource also comes with an editor’s summary and a list of comments to help you choose which ones to use. If you’re looking for info on geology, geography, soils, volcanoes, hurricanes, tsunamis, astronomy, the sun and solar system, or any other earth and planetary science topic, this is a great place to start. |
